RIVBC CAMP RULES — 7th Edition

Welcome to the Rhodes International Volleyball Camp. These rules exist to keep every athlete safe, the program running smoothly, and the experience unforgettable for everyone. By joining us, you’re agreeing to be part of a respectful, responsible, and positive community. Let’s look after each other.

1. SUPERVISION & SAFETY

1.1 — Coach Presence Required Campers are not permitted to use the pool, attend field trips, or join any organized activity without a coach present.

1.2 — Curfew Campers must be in their rooms by 23:00 (11 PM). Leaving rooms after curfew is strictly forbidden.

1.3 — Health & Medical Any health issue — minor or serious — must be reported immediately to a coach or the camp doctor, who is available 24 hours a day. Do not wait or self-manage.

1.4 — Leaving the Premises If you need to leave the camp for a specific reason (store, pharmacy, bank, etc.), you must:

  • Request permission from the coach on duty
  • State exactly where you’re going and your return time
  • Return at the agreed time and check back in with the same coach

The coach and RIVBC are not responsible for campers while they are off-site. Campers who fail to return on time may be excluded from the camp with no refund. Leaving without permission means immediate exclusion — no exceptions.

2. CONDUCT & RESPECT

2.1 — Respect for Coaches & Staff Campers must follow coach instructions at all times — inside the sports hall, around the hotel, and during all camp activities. A successful camp depends on mutual respect and discipline.

2.2 — Respect for Fellow Campers Treat every athlete, regardless of nationality, background, skill level, or beliefs, with fairness and dignity. Bullying, exclusion, verbal abuse, or any form of harassment will not be tolerated.

2.3 — Zero Tolerance: Discrimination Racial, political, sexual, religious, or any other form of discriminatory insult or behavior is strictly forbidden and will result in immediate exclusion with no refund.

2.4 — Respect for Property Campers must treat all camp, hotel, and sports facility property with care. Any damage caused — accidental or intentional — must be paid for by the camper. Parents or guardians of underage campers bear financial responsibility for damages caused by their child.

2.5 — Respect for Hotel Guests The camp shares the hotel with other guests. Campers must behave considerately in all common areas — lobbies, restaurants, hallways, and outdoor spaces. Excessive noise, running indoors, or disruptive behavior is unacceptable.

3. SCHEDULE & PARTICIPATION

3.1 — Activity Schedule Campers must follow the daily schedule and arrive on time for all activities — training sessions, meals, photoshoots, media moments, and team events.

3.2 — Meal Attendance All meals are taken at the pre-scheduled times. Skipping meals or arriving late disrupts the group and the hotel staff — be present and on time.

3.3 — Photoshoot & Media Campers must attend the official photoshoot in full sports equipment at the scheduled time. RIVBC reserves the right to use photos and video from camp activities for promotional purposes across media and online platforms.

3.4 — Media Interviews Campers may be asked to give interviews for media coverage. Cooperation is expected. The Camp Manager reserves the right to publish these interviews and accompanying images.

4. EQUIPMENT & BELONGINGS

4.1 — Training Gear Campers must bring appropriate training equipment to every session, including a separate, clean pair of indoor court shoes for the sports hall.

4.2 — Personal Items Campers are responsible for their own valuables — money, phones, jewelry, electronics, etc. RIVBC and hotel management are not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items.

5. PROHIBITED BEHAVIOR

5.1 — Alcohol Possession or consumption of alcohol anywhere on camp premises or during camp activities is strictly forbidden. Violation results in immediate exclusion with no refund.

5.2 — Smoking & Drugs Use of cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vapes, or any narcotic substance during the camp is strictly forbidden. Violation results in immediate exclusion with no refund.

5.3 — Reckless Endangerment Any behavior that endangers the camper or others — including but not limited to sitting on windowsills, leaving rooms at night, fighting, or instigating conflict — results in immediate exclusion with no refund.

5.4 — Mobile Phones During Training Phones must be put away during all training sessions, coach briefings, and team activities unless a coach explicitly permits use. This is your time to focus — respect it.

6. VOLUNTARY DEPARTURE

If a camper chooses to leave the camp permanently for personal reasons, they must inform Camp Management in advance and arrange their departure. RIVBC is not obliged to issue a refund in such cases.

7. EXCLUSION & PENALTIES

Any behavior violating these rules may result in immediate exclusion from the camp with no refund. Upon exclusion:

  • The camper must arrange immediate departure
  • Parents or guardians will be notified without delay
  • Parents or guardians must collect the underage camper within 12 hours of notification

RIVBC bears no responsibility for material or non-material damage caused by a camper’s failure to follow these rules.

8. ACKNOWLEDGMENT & ACCEPTANCE

These rules form part of RIVBC’s official offer. By paying the advance for camp participation, both the camper and their parents or guardians automatically accept all regulations in this Rule Book.

The Rule Book is available at all times on the official RIVBC website and at the camp workspace. Campers and parents are required to read and understand these rules before payment. Parents of underage campers are responsible for ensuring their child is aware of and understands the rules. If an underage camper breaks the rules, their parents or guardians will be held responsible for any resulting damages.
